Cala Millor – The Beautiful and Complete Resort
May 13th - May 16th 2010, A new European Tour event takes place at Pula Golf club in Son Servera, Mallorca.. This event is the Iberdrola Open Cala Millor. The course is located on the Ma4040 highway just a few kilometres north of Son Servera.Driving information update, March 2010. Good news for drivers that would normally take the road through Son Servera. The Baleares government recently announced a €13,000,000 by-pass highway around Son Servera. The new road will start from the roundabout next to the Repsol garage and finish at the Ma 4040 highway from Manacor to Capdepera.
May 2010. Good news for anyone traveling to Palma. The old railway line from Manacor to Arta is been relaid for the trains to start running again. Workers are clearing the brush and relaying new tracks.
In Cala Millor,
you will have your choice of
hotels
There are many luxury hotels as well as midrange (affordable) and cheap hotels (more affordable). Many have rooms overlooking the sea and promenade. You will also have the option of self-catering and all-inclusive or half board.

If you are a sun worshipper, I can guarantee you will absolutely love Playa Cala Millor beach. It is an extensive beach that is regarded as being the best on the island of Majorca. Located between two rocky headlands, this beach is kept exceptionally clean. It is very popular in summer months, but even in the winter months, people are seen walking and/or jogging up and down its gorgeous shoreline. When my mother came to visit two years ago, she always wanted to come back to this beach. It’s our favourite beach as well.

You can have a really fun-filled day on this beach with the many water sport activities on offer (windsurfing, waterskiing, paragliding etc.). Our friend Tomeu and his partner own the banana boat on this beach. He will give you the banana boat ride of your life. Oh, I best warn you that you might get thrown off during this ride, so hang on tight! There are glass-bottom boat tours from the jetty at the north end of the beach that travel between Cala Ratjada and Port Cristo, making stops at Cala Bona, Sa Coma and S’Illot. Sometimes, these boats make a stop to allow you to have a refreshing swim. We can highly recommend Cala Millor as your holiday choice as it boasts plenty of bars, discos, shops and wonderful restaurants to allow you to experience a great holiday in Mallorca. It is a great resort for families, singles, and couples alike, and it is great to know that it is wheel chair and pushchair friendly. The lovely promenade is tiled with engraved fish. When the fish engraved tiles run out you have entered neighbouring Cala Bona. Cala Millor has an attractive garden called the Parc de la Mar right in the centre of the resort. The tourist information office is located near this park. There are some cycle shops in this resort where you can rent bikes. I think Cala Millor is a great place to cycle around, especially since the new cycle paths have been created in this resort and its neighbouring resort Cala Bona. In fact you can easily cycle through both resorts along the promenade. If you are feeling energetic, the new interior cycle path will take you uphill to Son Servera, where there is a weekly market on Friday morning. The cycle journey is much easier on the way back to the resort. If you’re not a cyclist, or not feeling so energetic, look for the blue and white Son Servera bus that will take you directly to the market. There is a child-friendly area on Avenida Bahia de Llevant ideal for children. It is called Fantasy Park and it offers the children great excitement with bouncy castles, trampolines and a variety of other rides sure to keep the children happy. There is also a go-kart track on this same road. If you come to Cala Millor in October, you can enjoy the International Regatta and see hot air balloons from across Europe and United States.

We can recommend the following bars and restaurants in Cala Millor: We have many good friends in this area including Tony and Ange at the extremely popular Sportsmans Bar, just down the road from the Tourist Information booth. If you reach the Fantasy Park, you’ve gone too far. Just listen out for the music, you’ll find it. They feature karaoke every evening with Chubby. This bar always has a “full of fun” atmosphere, and the service is excellent. I suggest that you arrive early to get the best seating. In the morning, Tony cooks up a very hearty English breakfast and his Sunday Lunch (especially the Lamb Roast) is irresistible. In fact, people have a hard time passing by without stopping in to have one.

Our favourite Mallorquin restaurant in this resort is Bonanza, where you can devour a mouth-watering Entrecote Steak cooked to perfection by Sebastian straight off the BBQ. The Pork Tenderloin Steak (Pork Steak) is my husband’s favourite, and the Lamb Chops are simply gorgeous. I should mention that the chips here are to die for, so make sure you order loads, or you’ll be ordering another plate, guaranteed. You can order a bottle of wine at this restaurant for a very reasonable price. Tony, Sebastian’s son will ensure you are well looked after. This restaurant has a genuine Spanish atmosphere. Pirandello Restaurant on Son Corp Street in the interior of the resort is our favourite Italian food restaurant. They specialise in Pizza and they offer a take away service, but you must order at the counter. Their lasagne, spaghetti, and combination pasta dishes are exquisite. We always feel welcomed in Pirandello Restaurant. When you dine in the restaurant, they offer a tasty little appetiser dish of mini pizzas as a starter “absolutely free”.
Cala Millor is our favourite resort on the island. It is clean, beautiful, warm and friendly, and we believe it has something for everyone

We have a special page for
fiestas
but I thought I should mention the San Antonio Abad festival that occurs in January. This year, 2010, Colin and I went for an evening stroll through Cala Millor up to Cala Bona and we were supprised to see that the local bars and restaurants were having their own celebrations a week after the official fiesta. We lost count of the number of bonfires we saw on our walk. On every other street people were cooking their meats on these fires. In some areas were it was difficult to have a bonfire the bars had big barbecues outside of their facilities. Children were dressed up in their devils outfits and on the promenade were Cala Millor and Cala Bona meet there were local musicians playing and children dancing around the large fire. On our way home we stopped off at a local bar in the main square and had a drink and they severed us with traditional black sausages and pork bellies that they were barbecuing on the large bonfire.
