Peguera, a Lovely Southern Holiday Resort Town in Majorca

I like Peguera very much . From what I’ve seen, it is very pretty and quite a lively resort. It is situated on the south coast of Majorca, between Andraxt and Santa Ponsa. Your journey to this resort from the Palma de Mallorca airport should only last 50 minutes, but, of course that will depend on traffic volume at the time of your arrival.

In Paguera you will find a wide range of lovely hotels. I should warn you though, that the majority of these hotels are located on hilly areas. If you have mobility problems or, have children in pushchairs, I would keep in mind that these areas may prove to be a problem for you.

Peguera was originally a tiny fishing village before the tourist boom in Majorca. It is a resort well admired by our German visitors. I believe that this is due to the fact that they love hiking, and there are some really nice coastal hiking routes situated at the back of this resort.

The lovely beaches of this resort become very busy during summer months and are perfectly clean. The three beaches here are called Playa Palmira, Playa Tora and Playa la Romana. They are all joined by a pedestrian promenade.

I like the shopping streets of Paguera because they are lined with very nice shops. They are located behind the promenade and run the full length of this resort. You will find a great selection of restaurants and bars in this area, including some owned by British residents.

From what I’ve seen, this resort is quite busy and very lively. During the summer months, I would say that this resort is not suited for those seeking tranquillity. However, this resort is very charming. If Peguera Spain, resort does appeal to you, my suggestion would be to come later on in the year (after September) when it has a totally different atmosphere.
