Porto Cristo – A quaint fishing village resort.

Porto Cristo, one of the largest towns in Majorca has a selection of nice hotels overlooking the beach and marina area. You can also find some aparthotels here. Situated on the east coast, it is approximately one hour from the Palma de Mallorca airport.

I adore this lovely quaint fishing village and holiday resort with its lovely marina. The beach is small but it has fine golden sand and the water seems warmer here because it is set in a sheltered bay.

The town has a good selection of shops, most of which are centered nearest the beach and marina area but you can find more in the narrow side streets around the marina.

I love dining in the trendy restaurants on the main road at the back of the beach and around the harbour. It is very relaxing here as most of the restaurants have tables that overlook the scenic bay area.

This resort is popular with day-trippers who come to see Porto Cristo as well as the Caves of Drach and Caves de Hams attractions that are situated close by. My husband and I always try to park on the outskirts of the main road and walk in to avoid the stress of trying to find parking, which is very scarce in summer months.

There are several Golf Courses nearby. They include Golf Son Servera, Pula and Cala Dor. Situated on the east coast, it is approximately one hour from the Palma de Mallorca airport.

There is a walkway around the marina as well as behind the beach. From the section behind the beach you can see the entire view of the bay. You can walk around the beach promenade to an area where there are little caves along the side of the beach. You can take some fantastic pictures here.

The towns of Manacor, Cala D'or, S'Illot , Sa Coma, Cala Millor, Cala Bona, Calas de Mallorca and Porto Colom are not more that 20 minutes drive away.

There is small, but really nice market in Porto Cristo that has stalls selling very unique items. This market day in this resort is Sunday.
