Puerto Pollensa – The Prettiest Resort in Majorca

I adore Puerto Pollensa (Port de Pollenca). It has a good selection of very nice hotel accommodation both within the main resort and on the outskirts. A great selection of beautiful villas for rent are situated here, in fact, most villa rentals are just on the outskirts of this absolutely stunning resort. Depending on traffic volume at the time of your arrival in Majorca, you can reach this resort within 45 minutes from Palma de Mallorca airport.

It is situated on the north coast of the island just outside of Alcudia (old town). Puerto Pollenca adopted its name from Pollensa town, which is a roman town about three miles inland from the port.

This resort is very popular with British holidaymakers, so, you won’t be surprised to learn that many ex-patriots live here.

Depending on the wind conditions, as you leave Alcudia on the road around the Bahia de Pollenca towards Pollensa, the skyline in this area is sometimes filled with a colourful array of kiteboard chutes.

The Pollenca Club Resort is very close to this beach area, which offers windsurfing and tennis courts and, it has a small beach for swimming ans sun bathing, across the road from the hotel.

I always get a warm and welcoming feeling when we visit Puerto Pollensa. It is our favourite resort and we think it is the prettiest resort in Majorca. Within the town are quiet side streets with little plazas that are filled with welcoming restaurants.

It is a nice family resort as well as being quite popular with couples. You can enjoy a very restful vacation in this resort.

I love Puerto Pollensa beach as it has lovely golden sand and it is in an absolutely stunning, sheltered bay. I really enjoy walking along the promenade next to the beach as it is very picturesque. Across the road from the promenade are many nice shops and even more excellent restaurants and bars.

There is also a pedestrian walkway that has many restaurants and some of the dining areas are on small jetties that are surrounded by the clear turquoise waters. Here you can relax and enjoy the excellent meals, wines and of course Sangria.

The boat trips from the port include a trip to Menorca, and one of the most popular trips is to Formentor and the Cap de Formentor (the most northerly point of Mallorca). There is a very nice marina here where many lovely yachts and smaller boats can be seen.

Every Wednesday morning there is a small market in Puerto Pollensa which takes place mainly in the square, with some stalls along the side streets in this vicinity.

The nearest Golf Course is Golf de Pollensa (approximately 9 kilometres away).
