S'illot – Still a quiet old fishing village, adjoining Sa Coma

S'illot is situated on the east coast of Majorca. The resort of Sa Coma is adjoined to this resort via the promenade. You can reach this resort in approximately 1 hour from the Palma de Mallorca airport.

This resort has an assortment of cheap hotel choices, however, it does not give me the impression of being a holiday resort, rather a fishing village. This resort has grown, but very slowly. This is due to the efforts of the local council that has had some influence on the protection of green zones such as the headlands.

There are some restaurants and bars dotted around the resort. There is a wide promenade in S’Illot that links up with Sa Coma (to the north). There are two beaches you can visit in this resort, S’illot beach, situated within the resort, and also the small beach of Cala Moreya (to the south).

I think S’Illot is suitable for families seeking a very quiet holiday and not too much nightlife. It is not as modern as most other resorts on the island, and although there is some entertainment in the hotels, S’illot does not have the nightlife that Sa Coma or better still, Cala Millor has.
